Go to our home page and click “Register Now” Complete all the information and click “Submit” You will need a “Company Pincode” to register which if your employer is registered with us will have one. After clicking Submit you will receive an email with a link inside which you should click to activate your account.
Once you have activated your account, simply login and select either bikes or the transport mode you require. Then submit your order for the bike or ticket with your chosen supplier.

You will save up to 29.5% if you are on the lower rate of tax and 49.5% if you are on the higher rate of tax.
No. Under the scheme an employer may provide an employee with a Taxsaver Ticket for any value or bicycle and/or cycle safety equipment without the employee being liable for benefit-in-kind taxation limited to a cost of €1000. Where cost exceeds this amount a BIK charge will apply to the balance.
No. However, the bicycle must be used mainly for qualifying journeys (i.e. travelling to and from work or between places of work).
No. The scheme applies only to new bicycles and cycle safety equipment purchased from approved providers. A list of providers is available on this site.
The bicycle and/or safety equipment must be used by the employee or director mainly for qualifying journeys. This means the whole or part (e.g. between home and train station) of a journey between the employee’s or director’s home and normal place of work or between the normal place of work and another place of work.
Yes. If the bicycle is used for work related journeys, for example trips to the post office or to collect office supplies.
Under the cycle to work scheme the cost must be repaid within a maximum of 12 months. But this is determined by the employer.
Once your employer is registered with us you can register under their account. You submit an application, once approved we issue you with a voucher via email. You collect your bike using this voucher.
No. You can only avail of the tax relief if your employer purchases the bike using our vouchers as payment.
Once your application has been approved by your employer we will send you a voucher which you can print and collect your bike immediately.

In addition to the purchase of a bicycle the following safety equipment also qualifies:

  • Cycle helmets which conform to European Standard EN 1078
  • Bells and bulb horns
  • Lights, including dynamo packs
  • Mirrors and mudguards
  • Cycle clips and dress guards
  • Panniers, luggage carriers and straps to allow luggage to be safely carried
  • Locks and chains to ensure the cycle can be safely secured
  • Pumps, puncture repair kits, cycle tool kits and tyre sealant to allow for minor repairs
  • Reflective clothing along with front reflectors and spoke reflectors
You can only apply for the scheme once in every five years.
Unfortunately you are bound by the five year rule and will need to wait to apply again.
The employer will pay the €1000 and you as the employee will pay the balance. You will only receive the tax relief on the first €1000.
No, all TaxSaver tickets and Bikes must be purchased by the Employer on behalf of the employee as per Revenue guidelines.
Your employer will pay for your ticket / bike and then deduct the full amount from your Gross Salary. You will receive increased tax credits which effectively gives you the tax relief.
Depending on your tax situation you will receive up to 29.5% tax relief if you are on the low rate of tax or up to 49.5% tax relief if you are on the higher rate of tax.
No, TaxSaver Tickets cannot be transferred to another person, as they can only be used by the individual who received the tax benefit.
The ticket will be cancelled from the start of the next month. Since the employee is paying monthly there will be no need for a refund to the Employee. However in the case of an annual ticket the Employer will be refunded as they have paid upfront.
Monthly tickets are valid for one calendar month, while annual tickets are valid for one year commencing from the first day of any month.
No the tickets are valid for the month of purchase and cannot be carried forward.
Leapcards which are lost or stolen can be replaced as follows; Customer emails info@Taxfreebicycles.com to report the loss or theft of their card. (Allow 4-5 working days for replacement)
